DESCRIPTION

These versions of Frida Kahlo sharing a drink with Death are made in highly glazed ceramic from the village of Capula, Michoacan. We know the lady is Frida because of the way her hair is done and also that a monkey sits to the left of her feet in both pieces. Though perspective makes it difficult to tell, Frida is a little taller than Death in both pieces.  Each row of two pictures illustrates a different piece.
