DESCRIPTION

These vendors, the artist's signature pieces, are hand coiled and painted clay all signed by Josefina Aguilar of Oaxaca. When a vendor carries an incense burner, it is an homage to Josefina's mother who first started the art by making incense burners and taught her daughters how do make them. When they are carrying animal bells or pitchers, they are made in homage to Josefina's older sister, whose signature pieces are being touted.  If you see one carrying small vendors, you know the figure is a self portrait of Josefina.  All are signed by the artist.
